शाम में शामिल रंगों को ओढ़े

नज़र में बटोर के मचलते मंज़र

ढलते हुए दिन के चेहरे में

मुट्ठी भर उजाला ढूँढ़्ती हूँ।

पूरब की हूँ - श्यामल सी

सूरज को अपने

गर्दिशों में ज़मीं की ढूढ़्ती हूँ।

पहन के पैरों में पायल

बहकती हवाओं की

फ़िज़ाओं के सुरीले तरन्नुम में

गुनगुनाहटें (or आहटें) ज़िन्दगी की ढूढ़्ती हूं

सूरज को अपने

गर्दिशों में ज़मीं की ढूढ़्ती हूँ।

उठती निगाहों में

भर के कायनात का काजल

दूर कहीं छोर पर उफ़क के

टिमटिमाता वो सितारा ढूढ़्ती हूं

सूरज को अपने

गर्दिशों में ज़मीं की ढूढ़्ती हूँ।

शोख फूलों को

घूंट मस्ती के पिलाकर

चहकती धूप को आंगन में बिछाकर

ओस की बूंद में अम्बर को ढूँढ़्ती हूँ

सूरज को अपने

गर्दिशों में ज़मीं की ढूढ़्ती हूँ।

Bedecked I am

with the setting colours

risen from the shores of a silent dusk

as I  face a setting day

with rippling panoramic moments

that twinkle my eyes 

and with all this within me

I seek 

the handful of a dawning light.

I have adorned my feet with the anklets

of the tinkling restless breeze

and I look for the fading footsteps

in the rhythmic musical notes of 

the nature that surround me 

I am the dusky one 

from the east 

and I look for my sun light 

in the strife of the life
